A gala dinner at a Left Bank hotel. A pitch the morning after a red-eye flight. A wedding where you're a guest, not the bride. Photos. Most of the time you don't need a new haircut — you need your hair to look its best for one specific moment. That's what a professional styling appointment is for. This guide covers what's available in Astana, what it costs in 2026, how long it lasts in the city's wind and dry air, and how to book in English.
What "styling" means in an Astana salon
Menus here use Russian categories that don't map one-to-one onto Western salon terms. Roughly:
- Blowout / full styling — wash, blow-dry and finish with a brush and hot tools: sleek and straight, soft waves, volume at the root, or polished curls.
- Express styling on clean hair — you arrive with freshly washed hair, we skip the wash and style. Quicker and cheaper, ideal before an evening event.
- Glossing — a 15-minute shine treatment that makes styled hair reflect light. Small add-on, big difference in photos.
- Event or occasion styling — updos, half-up styles and red-carpet finishes. For brides, see our bridal guide.

For comparison, a blowout in London, New York or Dubai typically costs several times as much. In Astana it's an everyday service — many locals book one before any occasion that matters.
Send us the date, the time you need to be ready and a reference photo. We'll book the right stylist and tell you exactly how long to allow.
Timing it right
The most common mistake is booking too close to the event. Plan backwards:
- Morning meeting: book the evening before for a blowout, or an express style first thing at 10:00 when we open.
- Evening event: finish 1–2 hours before you leave, so the style has time to set.
- Hair plus makeup: allow around two hours in total and book both at once so they're scheduled back to back.
- Group bookings (wedding guests, a delegation, a team dinner): message us a few days ahead so we can line up several stylists.
Making it last in Astana's climate
Astana is windy almost year-round, dry in winter and surprisingly humid after summer rain. Each of those flattens or frizzes a style in a different way. A few things help:
- Ask for a finish suited to the weather — a firmer hold in winter wind, anti-humidity products in summer.
- Sleek and smooth styles survive wind better than loose waves; tell your stylist if you'll be outdoors.
- Sleep on a silk pillowcase and use dry shampoo at the roots — a good blowout can last 2–3 days.
- Add a glossing treatment before an event with photos; it reads well on camera.
Where to book in English
SuperMe is on Mangilik El Avenue, a six-minute walk from EXPO and a short taxi ride from the Left Bank hotels. We're open every day, 10:00–20:00, and our stylists — trained in the Toni & Guy academy system — work in English, Russian and Kazakh. Booking is a WhatsApp message away. Coming from a hotel?
